A Response to Rep. John Boehner: I’m an American, and I support a Public Option.

PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO. On October 1, House Minority Leader John Boehner said in a press availability, “I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who’s in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration… I’ve not talked to one, and I get to a lot of places and I’ve not had anyone come up to me — I know I’m inviting it — and lobby for the public option.” Well, some of Mr. Boehner’s constituents decided to take him up on his offer and rally outside his district office in West Chester, Ohio, delivering over 1800 signatures of people in his district who support a public option. This bone head congressman should not be in office. He has no clue to what his voters want. Every time I hear a Tea Bagger interviewed I hear ” I don’t know “. Facts are not important to them.

My friend in Canada laughs at our healthcare system. Even the English lady thinks our system is stupid. Heath care should be a right for everyone. Not just for the rich.

@photobart1 there are 1,500 signatures on that petition compared to 600,000 people who live within his district. Hmmmmmm that petition doesn’t show anything. Looks like he does what his constituents want since he has been in the house for almost 20 years now. Looks like facts aren’t important to you.

Well GeorgeT if you watched the video many of these folks called his office and wrote letters indicating they wanted a public option before he gave his speech on not knowing anyone that wanted a public option. Mr Boehner chooses to ignore them. Looks like you are not looking at the facts and you are closed minded. If you educate yourself you would find out that in the long run a pubic option would lower your personal health cost and it would lower your employers health costs.

TG Even if the 30 – 40 percent who can not get health care due to cost or pre existing condition. That is still not fair they can not get insurance. I am luckiy I was able to afford my $17,000 policy last year. I have Crohns Disease and I might not be able to afford it this year. The policy is very expensive due to a pre existing condition. Business was slower last few years so I am very worried. Nobody will insure me.

@rawgue hmmm thats interesting, cause i know the Europeans are all real experts on the American political tradition, alas you couldn’t be more wrong because studies have shown the Tea Party-ers are more educated and more successful than the general population…..yes why don’t you back it up “some how” while ur wasting away on the stagnant air of a dying culture that relies on America like no other

@GeorgeThomasandBen1 1,868 was the number they said in this video you just watched they said it more than once!! So now the question is how important are facts to you? And could you please show us proof of the 600,000 number you came up with. If you dont the facts will show you are just making up numbers because the facts dont really mater to you.

@photobart1 what about quality? What about the tax spike? Why do Americans want to strive to be like Europe? Why? I don’t get it. They are failing, and we are just moving to mimic them, it is sad and disappointing.

Also, you obviously like most current modern day liberals don’t understand how our government was set up and how it works. I was making a point that the majority rules!, that’s it. I am not closed minded, I’m very opened minded, so don’t jump to so many conclusions there barty boy.

@SadCarnage1224 im just quoting the new york times, but it mean, lets just ignore those studies…liberals are good at ignoring studies that don’t corroborate what they say…..but doesn’t it seem so unfair that they feel they have the right to keep what they earn! OH THE HUMANITY! imagine a country founded on economic freedom! wouldn’t that be an abomination…..oh wait……

Mr. Boehner was right in that it WAS very unpopular. According to the polls, even moreso than Hillarycare IIRC.

  24. Trollmaster21
    May 6th, 2010 at 01:51 | #24

@PKrockin 100% wrong, you, Boehner, and the GOP are deliberately ignoring polls that show the public option is popular.

And the fact Boehner is not talking to those in his district in favor of the public option shows he’s a status quo shill and not a representative of the American people. The best thing he can do for America is resign.

@GeorgeThomasandBen1 so all the bankruptcy’s that Americans suffer over medical bills a burden we simply have to accept where our single payer counterparts do not? Is that your point?
