Any idea how to find out a company name from a phone number?
I have an 800 number (well 866) and want to find out the company name. I’ve tried reverse look-up. I think its a collection agency and want to find out b/4 I call back. (I DO plan on taking care of the bill, if thats the case, I just want more info. They called my work but did not leave a message.

you can try going to the BBB.com website and trying to locate the company by phone numbers sometimes this has worked for me, other than that have you tried calling them and asking what company they there, Sorry I am not trying to imply that as a smartass comment! Best of Luck.
you can just about be assured that if they called you at work and wouldn’t leave a message other than a phone number with out with an extension number. And saying that this is "Mr. or Mrs. Whoever" and This is a personal business matter. That it was a bill collector.
You may want to try google and just type in the entire phone number, with no dashes, and seeing what it might come up with. Sometimes that has worked for me, other times it still doesn’t find any information. The collection companies don’t like people knowing about their phone numbers, where their located, etc… most of the time they pay a good deal of money to make sure that their phone numbers stay out of the public databases.

Go to reverse phone number and blug in the number you have and the name and address of the company associated with this number should come up.

Just ignore it, if it’s important they’ll call back. collection companies will eventually get around to mailing you. The phone calls are just harassment
