The 5 – Mobile Phones That Don’t Look Prepaid

The prepaid wireless market is hot so hot that Sprint decided it wasnt enough to just lease its wireless network to Virgin Mobile, it went ahead and bought the entire company. Prepaid offers some advantages over contract plans, most notably in the fact that you dont have a contract. Youre free to come and go as you please and can better budget your spending. While prepaid phones have come a long way in form and function, theyre generally not the slickest handsets out there. Still, you can find some gems in this episode of The 5, Rich DeMuro takes a look at five mobile phones that dont look prepaid. techvi.com *** HEY THERE I’M RICH DEMURO AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER EDITION OF THE 5! @Nindiscods as far as i know only phone’s the virgin mobile company sells will work as most of their phones do not use sim cards. nor are there any true 3g phones let alone 4g. So i’m betting no but of course i can’t confirm this.

@Megaz0 I know they dont use SIM cards but on my accout page i can use an ESN # to switch, so I was just wandering, and i think the Blackberry and Rumor Touch. Thanks though!

Im getting to Vergin Mobile Rumor 2 Because my iPhone messes up a lot. I talked to the Apple Company and they said they can’t do anything about it. Well first off, I was texting my friend one day, and all of the sudden I get a text from her. Then I decline it, and it just takes me back to my screen saver. It sucks.. Then one time, I clicked the backspace button, and it erased my whole text. It sucks shit. Im getting the iPhone 4 tomorrow to see if that’s any better.

@Cruisexpert96 and why is that? My sister just got her first phone and it’s Tracfone brand beacuse that’s the best prepaid phone we could get her.. it’s not bad, but it’s not as good as say Verizon and Sprint or AT&T but it’s better than nothing.. she’s excited about it and if she reads this comment she won’t be excited no more you dick!

The Samsung Finesse from Straight Talk is the best prepaid phone by far…3G, a large touch screen, high-speed EVDO data connection, a camcorder and every other bell and whistle you could want! Team it with the $45.00 a month unlimited talk, text and data plan from ST and you’ve got a winner!

@Megaz0 Virgin Mobile sells 3G phones that run on Sprint’s CDMA network. Virgin sells the Blackberry 8530 that is 3G and has WiFi.
They run on the same CDMA network that Boost mobile’s CDMA phones run on.
I have the Blackberry8330 from Boost & it’s 3G & fast on the web like virgin’s 8530 but no WiFi.
Boost now has an Android & Virgin will have one soon

Prepaid phones are becoming big & aren’t the crappy plain phones they once were.

I got my kids Samsung qwerty sliders from Tracfone and man do they just love them! I love that I get double minutes when I get them airtime and that their incoming texts are free…it’s a huge budget buster in these hard times.

If you use my kickback code when activating your Virgin Mobile phone for the first time, you’ll get 60 free bonus minutes. JJPwYI4V is the code. There is a spot for it on the official website.

I intended to only try Straight Talk for a month since I knew there was no cancellation fee and I never looked back. Month after month I was impressed to see that I was still paying the same price I had been paying since the begging. $45 for my unlimited plan and $30 for my son’s limited plan. I had become so accustomed to paying add on fees every month on my old cell phone plan that I was genuinely surprised when it finally hit me that it was never going to happen again. I love Straight Talk.
